Soul Patrol!

Taylor Hicks took the American Idol title last night. I am extremely pleased with this. I was impressed with the results show itself, normally, I would find myself just wanting the show to end and the results to be given, but this show I really enjoyed. The only point that I disliked was when the 'artist' formally known as Prince was singing.
My favorite part of the show was when they had the Best Impressionist Award. They had the winner come up and sing for the millions of viewers, but in the middle of his performance Clay Aiken surprised him. The shocked and elated look on his face was priceless.

All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten...

Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in Kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school. These are the things I learned..

Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't yours. Say sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup - they all die. So do we.
And then remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK. Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and sane living.

Think of what a better world it would be if we all - the whole world had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations to always put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

May 20th

Relay For Life of Bedford
May 20-21, 2006; 9a.m.-9a.m.

Bedford Community Football Statium

Relay For Life® is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back against this disease.
During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times. Relay is much more than a walk around a track.
It is a time to remember those lost to cancer and celebrate those who have survived.

Last year I was able to participate for the first time, it is definitely an experience! I am collecting donations for this years, if you would like to give please let me know.

hypnotism...?

The other weekend was Whiteford's after prom, my family along with the help of the Fielder family did the photos for them. The main entertainment of the night was a hypnotist. It was insane to see! A group of four students were selected to be hypnotized. The man could just say Whiteford and then all of them would start rubbing their elbow or something like that.
For one part of it, the students were told that a roll of toilet paper was actually a million dollars and they would get part of it, but they would have to keep it out of view from the others. One of the boys in the group grabbed the paper then took off running around the gym towards the exit. He ran towards where Ryan, Cassie, and I were standing, but then the hypnotist yelled "stop!" and he completely stopped from his full out sprint. We're all laughing and enjoying the show, but then we saw the look on his face. It was one of the strangest things I have seen, he just wasn't there, it's hard to explain if you didn't see it, but it was very odd.
The next day my Mom, Matt, and I were standing in my kitchen talking about the show and the question was brought up where hypnotism stands in a Christian point of view. Matt whips out his phone and dials Pastor Pat *voicemail* But later he called back saying how hypnotism is part of all of that dark stuff: allowing yourself not to be in control, and opening yourself up to basically anything... it is like the gateway drug into darker things. (My words, not Pastor Pat)

I managed to kill my blog the other day, if anyone is a computer expert and would know how to put the stuff at the bottom right of my page back up to the top, please let me know. It was gone for a few days and the only way I was able to get it showing again was to have it at the bottom.

Let me know if you can help please!

give this a try

The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be a professional. Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT that difficult. But don't scroll down UNTIL you have answered the question.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close refrigerator? Wrong Answer. Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend ... except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

**According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers! Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.

a moment

I would like to give a moment out to this past episode of 24. Amazing... a week till the next one, as a friend of mine likes to say: "Oh, I don't think so."

National Pro Life Day

More than 3,500 babies are surgically aborted every day in America, and thousands more die by chemical abortions. We cannot just sit by and be silent. Wearing a pro-life shirt will open eyes, spark discussion, and save lives. It’s effective, easy, and something that even the meekest of persons can do to take a stand.

Help Cure Abortion by participating in National Pro-life T-shirt Day. Help stop the spread of this “disease” by educating those around you, in class, at the mall, at sporting events or anywhere you happen to be. Abortion is the leading cause of death in America and we will not stop until this “disease” has ended and a Culture of Life has been restored.

Hidden agenda...?

The other day my mom and I were driving in the car while a commercial came on talking about Earth Day. In elementary school to celebrate it we would get a little baby tree to take home to our parents to plant in the yard or maybe have a guest speaker on how to keep our earth clean. But this commercial talked about how Earth Day is really a New Age movement biased on evolutionary thinking. New Age crystals and material how to worship mother earth are popular selling objects around this day. I don't know what I think about this, yes, I can see where people can get that from, but it's really just a harmless day to teach kids the importance of keeping our environment clean.

Flag

I'm told that there is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy.25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times. A few months back, the rock received its latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive sight. I thought the flag was draped over the rock, but it's not. It's actually painted on the rock too. *click the pictures to enlarge*

Pal It Up

*pictures from Pal It Up 3 to come*

monster bunny

LONDON (AFP) - In a tale reminiscent of the last Wallace and Gromit movie, furious villagers in northeast England have hired armed guards to protect their beloved communal vegetable gardens from a suspected monster rabbit.

Leeks, Japanese onions, parsnips and spring carrots have all been ripped up and devoured by the mystery were-rabbit -- prompting the 12 allotment holders in Felton, north of Newcastle, to hire two marksmen with air rifles and orders to shoot to kill.

"It is a massive thing. It is a monster. The first time I saw it, I said: 'What the hell is that?'" the Northumberland Gazette newspaper quoted local resident Jeff Smith, 63, as saying on its website (www.northumberlandtoday.co.uk).

my weekend

Showcase last night, it went really well! There is still a show tonight at 8 and tomorrow at 2, come on out!

This morning I took the ACT test... why does it have to be so early? It wasn't too bad, the essay question was a little bogus though. "Should seniors be givin special privilages such as going off school grounds for lunch, ect..." Yes, they should have different privilages then the underclassmen! Afterwards went out to ihop with a few friends.
Tip of the day: Hot sauce is called Hot for a reason... there will be an aftershock. And you also can't flavor water with the different types of syrup, sounds like a good idea, but it's not.

Tonight is also the 13 Action News vs Bedford All Star game. So after you go to showcase, stop by the game!
Tomorrow morning is Pal It Up! I am hyped for it! I will post pictures.

Still in need of a Pal,
Morgan

sorry for the lack of update

hey everyone!
Last night we won our first soccer game, 2-0! The girls did awseome! KJ- Get better soon, we need you out there! We had lost the game before yesterdays, 1-2. Not too bad for about a week of practices.
This week is MEAP week at school which is awesome! I don't have to come in to school till 9:46 each morning...sleep is nice! Anyone who would like to join, tomorrow morning a group of us are heading out to ihop for breakfast, let me know and I'll give you the details. It's going to be a busy week for me.

This weekend is showcase! Fri, Sat, Sunday

Act this Sat.

Pal it Up is Sunday... I need a pal!

Nicole's Birthday is Sunday.

One more week till Spring Break!

Last Sunday I went to North Points youth group, i really enjoyed it. They talked about how people call themselves christians but then they go out and drink or cuss all the time. This has been something that has been on my mind a lot lately. I am tired of all the poisers! They give the rest of us a bad name, then when people do find out that you are a christian they automatically label you as a hypocrite because of how the christian fakers act. This week I want to challenge you all to not be a christian poiser but to live how you know you are suppose to live.

Time to go to class, thanks for your time, leave a comment
